Free Screenwriting Resource: Interviews With Professional Screenwriters

If you are trying to learn the craft of screenwriting, isn’t it better to seek out the insights of professional screenwriters who have worked on the front lines of the business in Hollywood, rather than some screenwriting ‘guru’ who has no movie credits? That’s my working thesis and a primary reason why I have been aggregating interviews with screenwriters for the entire time I’ve hosted this blog. There are literally hundreds of links on this site and here they are:

Interviews [Audio]

Interviews [Video]

Interviews [Written]

Note: While the links to the audio and written interviews are likely active, that’s not necessarily the case of the video interviews which have a way of mysteriously coming and going, so you just have to deal with that.

But wait! There’s more! Over the years, I have also culled through books and magazines for screenwriter interviews not readily available online and collected them in this series:

How They Write A Script

These include some of the most notable screenwriters in Hollywood history including Paddy Chayefsky, Horton Foote, Ernest Lehman and Sterling Silliphant.

There is incredible wisdom available here, all for free. Read, listen, watch and learn!

Each day in August, I’m going to highlight a screenwriting resource available on the blog. Why? Because with over 15,000 posts and 70+ archive topics, I want to make sure readers are aware of the many, many assets available here for reading and research. And they are all free!
