GITS Script Reading and Analysis Series: “Up In The Air” — Structure

This week we will be analyzing the screenplay for Up In The Air (screenplay by Jason Reitman and Sheldon Turner, based on a novel by Walter Kirn).

Three-act structure? A scene-by-scene breakdown? Major plot points? Sequences? Here is your chance to use your analytical muscles.

Note: I have something on a script project to get out the door by Wednesday, so where you normally see me break down the screenplay per its Plotline points, not gonna happen this time around. So how about you? Part of the value of doing this is to break down the script. Why not you? Zero in on the major plot points and see if you can track the arc of the narrative. I’ll bet just about every 10 pages, something significant happens.
