“Go Into The Story: The Quest” — Submission Process
At the risk of repeating myself… check that… I am repeating myself [because I keep getting the same questions via email and Twitter]… once again, here is the submission process for “Go Into The Story: The Quest”. Follow these steps precisely please!
* Email address: GITSblog at gmail dot com.
* In the subject heading, type “QUEST”.
* Present your story as a logline. If you need guidance on what a logline is or how to write a logline, go here.
* If you have a title for your project, please include it.
* If the genre of your story is not clearly indicated in the logline, please note that in your email. If you need guidance about genres, go here.
That’s it. I want nothing else in the email. No bio. No special pleas. No attachments. No scripts. No treatments.
BECAUSE OF THE NUMBER OF ANTICIPATED SUBMISSIONS, I ONLY WANT YOU TO SUBMIT LOGLINES!!!
I will accept submissions beginning precisely at 12:01AM Eastern [U.S.], Tuesday, May 29 through 11:59PM Eastern [U.S.], Friday, June 8.
Do not send submissions yet. You must wait until tonight at 12:01AM.
Why am I being so persnickety about this? Because I get a crapload of emails as it is and I need you to help me work through this process so I can give everyone’s submission the care and attention they deserve.
If there are four or more writers with stories in which I am interested, I will contact them via email on Monday, June 11 and ask for additional information [see preceding post for details].
For everyone else, I will send you an email thanking you for your time and reminding you that by submitting a logline for consideration for “The Quest,” you have won a free 1-week course with me at Screenwriting Master Class. You can choose any of the eight Core classes or any of the Craft classes. Availability in your free SMC course is on a first come, first serve basis and I can take on 3–5 people per class depending upon official enrollment. If you find a course you are interested in taking, you may email me with that request. Alternatively a few weeks in advance of a course’s start date, if there are slots available, I will post something on GITS to that effect, and you may respond in comments or email at that time.

Two final notes:
* As much as I would like to, I can not provide feedback on your loglines. I simply do not have the time. So please do not ask me to analyze your loglines.
* While I hope like hell to be flooded with great loglines starting tomorrow at 12:01AM Eastern [U.S.], if no one presents me with a strong enough story concept, I am under no obligation to proceed with “The Quest.” Again, I will only work with writers on stories I believe to have strong commercial viability in Hollywood.
