Ira Glass on producing a movie
I love Ira Glass. Seriously, if I was gay, I would totally have a crush on him. He’s smart, he’s funny, and he has created this niche for himself — “This American Life” — by simply telling stories. Or telling stories simply. One or the other. Or both.
Anyway Glass was at the recent Sundance Film Festival for the premiere of a movie he produced and co-wrote [with Mike Birbiglia, Joe Birbiglia and Seth Barrish] called Sleepwalk with Me. If you’re a TAL fan, you’ve doubtless heard Birbiglia’s incredible story about sleepwalking that is the basis of the movie.
Here is a short interview with Glass in which he, acting as one of the movie’s producers, goes on and on about how insane it is to be… a movie producer.
