Movies You Made: “Be My Baby”
In May, I will be reprising the annual Movies You Made Festival and I can’t think of a better way to inspire those of you who have a short film to submit for consideration than this wonderful effort called “Be My Baby”:

Hey Scott!
I know you’re a busy guy so I’ll get right into it and try and make it quick! My name is Oskar Velazquez, I’m 19, and just finished my first real short film. I’ve been making videos since high school but I’d say this is truly my first short as it actually required some funding and was shot on a real camera with a real crew and all that good stuff.
After graduating high school in Arizona I opted not to go to college or film school and move out to Los Angeles to try and work my way up. I’ve been here for a year a half and somehow got in the mix with just right people who let me work for them and eventually helped me produce my movie.
After we screen the movie people sometimes ask me ‘where did you learn to do this if you didn’t go to school?’ and the answer is always the same: Scott Myers. I spent all of high school watching movies, making movies, and reading everything you post. Can’t tell you how thankful I am that you do what you do.
I realize you probably get a lot of emails from filmmakers asking you to watch their latest work, but I promise this one is worth your time. It’s short, moves quick, gets to the point, and has great performances.
Love getting emails like this, especially from someone like Oskar who clearly has it going on, witness his short film.
