Movies You Made: “Broken Wings”
For several months, I’ve been tagging a bunch of emails from filmmakers who have contacted me about their film projects, so I figured we should feature them this May. If you have a movie, either short-form or long, with which you were involved — writer, actor, director — please either email me or post details in comments. Happy to promote them on GITS.
Today we feature the short film Broken Wings written and directed by John Scherer. Some background from John:
Broken Wings, the short film from MakeShift Studios and Idle Entertainment, follows Reporter Cliff Collins as he gets to meet and interview his childhood hero, The Sparrow. Long imprisoned and never interviewed by the public, the vigilante tells Cliff stories long left untold, and begins to expose that the truth Cliff was lead to believe as a child, may have never been the correct truth at all.
Leaving Cliff with one big question he always thought he knew the answer to:
Who is the Sparrow?
The film is based off of a short story written by myself. It is currently working it’s way through the festival circuit. Currently it has been accepted into The International Action on Film Festival in Pasadena, CA and The Buffalo International Film Festival in Buffalo, NY. We’re waiting on word from several other international festivals. It was made from start to finish in 3 months and put together on a shoe-string budget of $1700. It was filmed in and around the Buffalo, NY area featuring local talent both in front of and behind the camera.
Here is the movie’s trailer:
