Movies You Made: “I’m Christian Okoli”
For several months, I’ve been tagging a bunch of emails from filmmakers who have contacted me about their film projects, so I figured we should feature them this May. If you have a movie, either short-form or long, with which you were involved — writer, actor, director — please either email me or post details in comments. Happy to promote them on GITS.
Today we feature the short film I’m Christian Okoli from filmmaker Cyrus Trafford. Some background on the project:
This is Cyrus Trafford’s second Short Film. His first Short Film was released last year F.E.A.R (False Evidence Appearing Real) which got great reviews even though it wasn’t as disciplined technically as “I’m Christian Okoli.”
Cyrus and Christian first met under 2 Years ago when they were working on an Acting Project together. They had to do an exercise where they would perform an improvised monologue off the top of their head in their characters. When it was Christian’s turn he went up and came up with this Monologue. Cyrus was in complete shock and awe of his creative genius. For the next 2 Years Cyrus hassled Christian every time they met to let him put it on camera, and finally two months ago Christian agreed. Cyrus stopped Pre-Production on another Project to ensure he could film this.
Cyrus met Dan Pickard the first time last year at a United Nations Conference in November last year, where a “Tim Porter” Short Film “Joshua” starring both Cyrus and Christian was asked to open the ceremony. Dan Pickard comes traditionally from a Photography background, and Cyrus and Dan hit it off straight away.
They subsequently worked on another three projects in Actor/DOP capacity before Cyrus asked Dan to jump on board as DOP on “I’m Christian Okoli.”

Cyrus met Mark Williams, Luke Harper and Olli Turner on a new exciting Feature Film he’s acting in called “Abusing Protocol,” Directed by Darren Kent (Black Mirrors, Shameless.) incidentally Dan Pickard is the main DOP on Abusing Protocol.

“I’m Christian Okoli” has already received glowing praise from the likes of 20th Century Fox, Tiger Aspect, The Independent, The Daily Star, etc.
However the overwhelming response has been from fans.
