2014 BLACK LIST SCRIPT GIFTED TO KICK OFF 2015 BLACK LIST LIVE! READING SERIES
Los Angeles (February 17, 2015) — The Black List announced this morning that Tom Flynn’s screenplay GIFTED will kick off their 2015 Black List Live! Reading Series on Saturday, March 14th at the Montalban in Hollywood. GIFTED appeared on the 2014 Annual Black List. Early bird tickets go on sale at 9:00am.
GIFTED is the story of Frank Adler, a deliberate under-achiever raising his niece Mary in rural Florida. Things get complicated for both of them when he enrolls her in school for the first time and she is immediately labeled as gifted. For reasons that become boldly apparent, all Frank wants is for Mary to have a normal life, but standing in his way is his formidable mother Evelyn, and the small problem that he doesn’t actually have custody of Mary.

This is Black List Live!’s fourth live read. Previous events include Brian Duffield’s YOUR BRIDESMAID IS A BITCH, Victoria Strouse’s THE APOSTLES OF INFINITE LOVE and Stephany Folsom’s 1969: A SPACE ODYSSEY. The reads are cast by Deborah Aquila and Lisa Zagoria of Aquila Wood Casting and participating actors have included Nathan Fillion, Seth Green, Alison Brie, Justin Bartha, Zachary Levi, Adrianne Palicki, Kathryn Hahn, Thomas Sadoski, Jared Harris, Clark Gregg and Lance Reddick, among others. Cast for the reading will be announced in the weeks leading up to the performance.
