Next week’s Daily Dialogue theme: Originals and remakes

After a week’s worth of pity parties [suggested by Teddy Pasternak], we move onto our next DDT: Originals and remakes, nominated by saint716.

This could be our most challenging DDT yet. The object here is to find dialogue that exists in the original that is repeated or adapted in the remake. Plus we have to find at least a movie clip from one, even better both films.

Honestly I think this may be the week where our streak of generating seven days worth of posts comes to an end. Or will you show me up and prove me wrong?!?!

Are you up for the challenge?

The usual drill:

* Copy/paste dialogue from IMDB Quotes or some other transcript source.

* Copy/paste the URL of an accompanying video from MovieClips or YouTube.

I’d also like to ask you to think about why the dialogue is notable. Is there anything about the dialogue which provides some takeaway re screenwriting. And if there are changes to the dialogue, why do you think those changes were made?
