Pitch sales: “Archive” and “Repeat After Me”
Two pitches sell, both with producer Scott Stuber attached. The first is “Archive” from playwright David Auburn to Universal, described as a “time-travel thriller.”
Then Universal went to the well once more for writer Dave H. Johnson’s pitch “Repeat After Me”. Premise:
“Repeat” revolves around a couple who realize that they are reliving their disastrous wedding day again and again and start to question getting married in the first place.
Sound familiar? Another variation of Groundhog Day, the ol’ “similar but different” model at work. More on Johnson here.
