RIP: Glenn Frey

2016 is kicking our cultural ass. David Bowie. Gone. Alan Rickman. Gone. And now Glenn Frey. Passed away. While I never met him, Frey had a house in Aspen, so when I lived there playing music from 1978–1980, he could be seen around town. I played in some clubs where The Eagles had their very first gigs. Sad.

Anyhow here is a rare video of Frey and Jimmy Buffett playing “Margaritaville” at Aspen High School in 1977.

That’s Steve Weisberg playing dobro. I knew him. And I did play at a benefit concert which Buffett headlined.
