Spec Script Deal: "Bleed the Night"

Fox Entertainment Studios acquires horror spec script "Bleed the Night" written by Keith Cooper and Zoe Cooper, story by Keith Cooper and Justin Dyck. Via Deadline:

Bleed the Night opens with a lonely teenager answering a mysterious ad reading “MUST LOVE BLOOD.” She then meets a charismatic young vampire who offers her the friendship and freedom she’s always craved — turning one summer night in 1994 into a bloody crime spree that tests just how far she’ll go for her first real friend.

The Deadline article says the spec sold "amidst an industry-wide search for the next breakout horror project." With the 2026 box office success of original horror movies such as Obsession, Backrooms, Buddy, and Iron Lung, it's easy to see why buyers are eager to find the Next Big Horror Thing.

Keith Cooper is repped by WME and Aperture. Zoe Cooper is repped by WME and Gotham Group.

Dead even with last year. 2025 ended up with 28 verified spec deals. Here's hoping Hollywood ends 2026 strong and tops last year's total to continue an upward trend in the spec market over the last four years.
