The brilliance of “All in the Family”
In a mere 5 minutes, this video featuring an interview of Norman Lear by Katie Couric reminds us of how incredible the TV series “All in the Family” was.
Consider the subject matter mentioned in this clip: Racism. Murder. Sex change. Loss of faith. Impotence. That’s just for a handful of episodes. The series covered the gamut of social issues of the 70s. And this show was a sit-com? Somehow Lear and the phenomenal cast and crew pulled it off. Amazing show and cutting edge to say the least.
