Update: Award season screenplay downloads — 2 new scripts / 29 total

It’s that time of year again when studios and production companies make available PDFs of movie scripts for award season. As in years past, we will be tracking them and posting links as they become available.

A special note of thanks to Big Talk Pictures and Saban Films for making available the script for Man Up. Both the script, written by Tess Morris, and the movie, starring Lake Bell and Simon Pegg, and directed by Ben Palmer, are excellent. I was concerned the screenplay would not be made public, so I contacted one of the movie’s producers, Big Talk Pictures Rachael Prior, and through her efforts, the script is now available for download exclusively here at Go Into The Story (see link below).

Currently you can see Man Up on VOD and iTunes. If you are a fan of romantic comedies or comedy in general, I definitely recommend the movie. I plan on doing a week-long read and analysis of the script in the near future as there’s a lot to learn from this deftly written screenplay.

Reading movie screenplays is absolutely critical to your development as a screenwriter. Along with watching movies and writing pages, it is a fundamental practice you should put into place. Make it a goal to read at least one movie script per week.
