We talked it about the rumors here and here, and now it seems it’s official: The return of Murtaugh and Riggs. Here are some breathless comments from exuberant First Showing users:
Buddy cop movie where one cop pulls another out from retirement to solve “One Last Case” just to relive their glory days, and all while blowing shit up and saying snappy one-liners…

If this wasn’t a comedy, I’d say what a joke…
When your franchise’s biggest catchphrase is “I’m gettin’ too old for this shit.” and it was first uttered *20 years ago*, dragging these characters out again is beyond ironic.
This goes to show the power of pre-existing material whether it’s movies, books, comic books, the more saturation a character or story has in the consumer marketplace, the easier it is to market.
Not saying it’s right; just saying it is.
