Update: “Schmucks With Underwoods”

Longtime GITS friend and former moderator of The GITS Club Mike Scherer has created a new online resource for the screenwriting community called Schmucks With Underwoods [I posted on it here back in January]. Here’s a recent note from Mike:

Okay, people. Put on your thinking caps, pull out some pens and pencils, grab that legal pad and get writing!

I’m announcing The First Shmucks Screenplay Challenge!!

The bad news: this writing challenge is open only to registered members of Shmucks With Underwoods. The good news: anyone can become a member — just register.

Our first challenge is very generic, open to interpretation and all genres. Ready?

Write a short script (5 pages or less) about… Tax Day!!

Simple, eh?

Deadline will be — ya had’a see this coming — April 17, 2012 and the winner will be chosen by you, the SWU membership.

The prize? Prestige and Satisfaction.

Have at it. Have fun. And always,

Keep Writing!

Sounds like fun. If you are looking for the unique moral and creative support an online screenwriting group provides, check out Schmucks With Underwoods.
