Update: “Twas the night before Black List…”

Last weekend, we launched a contest in honor of the 2015 Black List: Finish the poem screenwriter Chris McCoy started some years ago as a lark:

“‘Twas the Night Before Black List and all through the LA / Writers were nervous — could this help them get pay?”

“Their loglines were sharp and polished with care / In the hopes that St. Franklin soon would be there.”

“The writers were ambien’d all snug in their beds / While visions of having a sustainable future danced in their heads.”

“The agent in Prada and the hopeful in Gap / Had just settled their brains (with pot) for a long winter’s nap.”

That was as far as Chris got in his series of fanciful tweets. Some GITS readers crafted poems of their own to complete what Chris had started and today I’m announcing the winners.

The Ultra Groovy Grand Prize goes to Shannon Corbeil! Shannon will not only receive two script evaluations and three months hosting on the Black List website — for free — I will also feature her poem on the blog on Christmas Eve, then tweet that link to my 35K+ followers.
