Video interview: Diablo Cody

This is interesting. Bumping around, I found an interview with Diablo Cody on “The David Letterman Show.” This is pre-Juno. In the interview, she talks about working in a strip club in Minneapolis, which Cody chronicled in her book “Candy Girl: A Year in the Life of an Unlikely Stripper,” an experience she describes as “anthropology… a naked Margaret Mead.” Cody is a great interview and her unique voice comes through big-time. Also find out that her real name is Brooke, which she dropped because it is “so not heavy metal.”

Of course, Cody went on to write Juno (2007) for which she won an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay, Jennifer’s Body, which is being released in September of this year, and the TV series “The United States of Tara which just recently premiered on Showtime.

Here’s a link to another interview with Cody in which she describes her inspiration for Juno. And here is the first episode of “The United States of Tara.”
