Your suggestions wanted to continue a 10 year-long tradition!
As of today, I have posted 3,362 Daily Dialogue posts. That’s one for every single day since I launched Go Into The Story on Mary 16, 2008. Never missed a day. That’s right, three thousand three hundred and sixty two consecutive days.
Daily Dialogue is one of the first ideas I had for this blog: Why not post something first thing in the morning featuring notable dialogue from memorable movies? A great way to start the day. Get our collective creative engines up and running.
Originally it was just me posting random items from all the different movies I could remember having seen. But by about Year 3, it evolved into something else: What if we gave each week a theme, so we could study how screenwriters used a variety of approaches to craft dialogue?
Since that time, we have featured hundreds of Daily Dialogue themes. Today we continue that tradition.
I’m asking you for your suggestions for a new crop of DDTs: Daily Dialogue Themes.
The theme should cinematic: Dialogue reflecting the unique qualities of movies.
The theme should be short: Preferably one word like Addiction, Denial, Forgiveness, or Wedding.
The theme should be able to support 7 posts: Civil War Speeches Delivered in Italian? No. Dying Words? Yes.
What do you get out of this? First, my thanks and undying gratitude.
Second, your name mentioned in 7 daily posts for an entire week: Today’s suggestion by [your name].
Third, the knowledge you are contributing to a tradition which goes back 10 years AND you are creating more time for me to blog, teach, and write.
So if you enjoy this humble blog, consider supporting it in a super easy way: Suggest some Daily Dialogue Themes for the week.
Thanks. Onward!
