Welcome to GITS!
It’s the beginning of the month, time to throw down the welcome mat and give a big sloppy wet virtual kiss to all GITS newcomers!

First a few numbers to consider about this site:
Number of posts: 8,593
Number of comments: 29,061
Number of consecutive days I have posted on GITS: 1,417
Average number of posts per day: 6.06
How about site traffic? Here are the numbers for the first quarter 2012 [numbers from Google Analytics]:
January: 84,781 Visits / 131,289 Page views
February: 95,395 Visits / 148,157 Page views
March: 117,882 Visits / 186,833 Page views
Notice a trend?
1st Quarter Totals: 298,058 Visits / 466,279 Page views
So the site is on target to hit 1.2M visits this year and almost 2M page views.
Huh. A funky little blog about screenwriting. Imagine that.
Since I’ve added a few series on the weekend, let’s take a look at the current schedule of posts [Eastern time zone]:

In addition, I typically run some sort of weekly series at noon Monday through Friday.
So you see, there is some method to my madness.
But enough about me, how about you?
* If you have a blog about writing or movies…
* If you have a movie you have made, anything from a short to feature length film…
* If you have a KickStarter film project you are promoting…
* If you have a question about screenwriting…
* If you would like to introduce yourself to the GITS community…
* If you have a suggestion about something new or different you’d like to see on GITS…
Head to comments and have at it. Even though we’ve been at this site now for nearly four years, it continues to evolve on a daily basis.
In fact, I have two big announcements to make, one an audacious research project on which some resolute Black List interns are taking the lead, and another crazy concept I concocted. The former project is something I have been wanting to do for a long time and will provide a much needed resource for the online screenwriting community. The latter thing? I suspect it will blow people’s minds when I go public with it. Look for that in conjunction with GITS’ 4th birthday which is coming up on May 16th.
And as always, thanks to you! I hear amazing stories nearly every week from GITS readers, how what they have learned here has helped their careers on multiple fronts including many writers who have broken into Hollywood as screenwriters, even TV writers. I put a lot of long hours into this site. I appreciate hearing your success stories or even when you just feel like giving me a shout-out.
So here’s another sloppy virtual kiss to thank you for being you!

As always: Read scripts. Watch movies. Write pages.
