Writing question: Do you play music or not when writing?
I need to have it quiet, although occasionally I will play parts of The Shawshank Redemption soundtrack for inspiration (scored by Thomas Newman and absolutely brilliant). But the music has to be instrumental. Lyrics confuse my brain for both scene description or dialogue.
How about you? Silence? Music? If you play music, what do you like to listen to when you write?
