I discovered the same thing when my first son Will was born. I got to be a House Dad from the time he was 11 months old all the way through his second year and whenever he went down for a nap, I’d leap to my computer and write. Hence the value of writing scampers: If you focus your attention and pound out words — NO PRE-EDITING!!! — you can make progress on your draft. Thirty minutes, one scene. Boom!
