Zero Draft Thirty 2016 Spring Challenge: FADE OUT!
FADE IN. FADE OUT. 30 Days. That describes what just transpired in September. Dozens of writers from around the world dove into their script and pounded out a draft. Check out just a handful of tweets:
Meanwhile over the course of the month, the Zero Draft Thirty Facebook group added 400 new members bringing the current total to 1,306.
So a hearty congratulations to everyone who participated in the 2016 Autumn Challenge. If you didn’t reach FADE OUT, no worries. Keep writing! Day by day, stay focused on reaching the end of your draft. Remember it’s a zero draft. It’s not going to be perfect. Screenwriting is an iterative process, by definition it’s writing and rewriting… and rewriting… and rewriting. To get to the rewriting, you have to do the writing… and get to FADE OUT.
You. Can. Do. This. Cue the ZD30 Spirit Animal!
If you participated in the 2016 Autumn Challenge, I’d love to read your reflections on the experience. I’ll choose some of the best comments and post here on the blog next week.
Mark it on your calendar: March 1, 2017. That is the start date for the Zero Draft Thirty 2017 Spring Challenge.
Turn Perfectionism and Procrastination into Productivity with the Zero Draft approach.
