“Bacon is good for me!”
I know that reality TV means we’re very near the end of civilization as we know it, but here is a great scene.
Sound structure — beginning, middle, end?
B: Joy throwing away family’s crap food.
M: The boy (Curtis) confronts Joy and declares, “I’ m leaving.”
E: Curtis packs up and leaves home.
Lots of conflict?
“I keep losing at deals, and I don’t want to make a deal anymore!”
“I won’t coming back til Saturday when you leave!”
Memorable dialogue?
“I gotta tell you something. Bacon is good for me!”
“She acts like she’s the queen… and we’re the sorry people!”
“She’s gonna try to stop me, but she can’t run in those little high heels.”
Even ends with a cliffhanger.
“You’ll never see this face again.”
Yep, I suspect Lowell Ganz & Babaloo Mandel might wish they could have written that scene for a domestic comedy… although the vomit bit (starts at minute 7:10 in the video below) from Parenthood is pretty hard to top:
Gil: You feel like you wanna throw up?
Taylor: Ok
[barfs all over Gil, and starts crying]
Karen: Oh Taylor, baby… Gil, why are you standing there?
Gil: Waiting for her head to spin around.
Man, Parenthood was a fantastic movie.
