Classic 90s Movie: “Clueless”

IMDB Plot Summary: A rich high school student tries to boost a new pupil’s popularity, but reckons without affairs of the heart getting in the way.
Why I Think This Is A Classic 90s Movies: Being 10 years old when I first saw this movie, I literally wanted nothing more than to be Cher Horowitz.
I wanted to dress like her, drive her car, date Paul Rudd (I mean, who wouldn’t!?), etc. Some might say that it was merely a representation of 90s teen culture, but I genuinely believe it created 90s teen culture. When I was in junior high school (circa 1997), most of the girls were wearing knee-high socks and Mary Janes. Random people you encountered were saying “as-if!” or shaping an “L” on their forehead. In my humble opinion, it was amazing. I have yet to meet a single person who doesn’t love this movie (and if anyone reading this happens to not like it, I’m sorry, but we probably can’t be friends). For such a light-hearted comedy, it certainly made an impact. Clueless is, without question, my favorite 90s teen movie, and for me to pick a favorite in any film genre, that’s saying something.
My Favorite Moment In The Movie: Alright, so it’s really cliché, but I absolutely love the ending kiss between Cher and Josh. The music, the way he holds her face: UGH. I’m a hopeless romantic! Tied for first though is when Tai falls down the stairs at the college party. If anyone could have made busting their butt into something adorable, it was Brittany Murphy.
My Favorite Dialogue In the Movie:
Mel: Where are you?
Cher: I’m just having a snack at my girlfriend’s.
Mel: Where, in Kuwait?
Cher: Is that in the valley?
Christian: Do you like Billie Holiday?
Cher: I love him.
Key Things You Should Look For When Watching This Movie: How clever the writing is! Amy Heckerling is an amazing filmmaker. As an aside, the soundtrack is also pretty awesome.
