Daily Dialogue contest: Telephone talk

As I announced here on Monday, next week’s theme for Daily Dialogues is telephone talk courtesy of GITS reader Andrew Woodberry: Either notable monologues or conversations over the phone. We’ve got two suggestions:

305 writer: The telephone scene from “Scream” comes to mind.

cfan: This scene from Goodfellas uses a phone conversation to help deliver a surprise. The scene shifts from joy to sadness as Jimmy reads the coldly coded language from Vinny that his friend has been wacked. Tommy is a psychotic maniac who deserved it. Still, the audience experiences loss with Jimmy as he stands in the phone booth weeping.

How about other notable phone conversations? There’s that great one in It’s A Wonderful Life where George and Mary talk with their rich pal in NYC. How about the phone calls in The Manchurian Candidate which provide the signal for the assassination? There was the phone sex scene in The Truth About Cats and Dogs.

Which ones jump into your mind?
