Daily Dialogue theme for next week???
As we wind down this week filled with movie references [thanks to Todd Wallinger for the suggestion], it’s time for another Daily Dialogue theme. Here is the current roster of possibilities as suggested by GITS readers:
Embarrassing [(Doug)]
People at a loss for words [(Doug)]
Arnold quotes [The Unknown Lyricist]
Signature quotes from summer movies [The Unknown Lyricist]
Telling jokes [Francisco Madaragog]
Moments of professional pride [Atlanta]
Understatements [Joshua James]
Cliches [James]
Dying scenes [Daniel Martin Eckhart]
Philosophical comments [The Unknown Lyricist]
Or whatever other ideas you have.
My intention with Daily Dialogue is to do a few things:
* Provide GITS readers with a brief bit of dialogue inspiration every day
* Remind GITS readers about notable movies
* Provide some entertainment
But the series can also provide some insight into writing dialogue. So if there are certain aspects of that part of the craft that you want to work on, why not pick a theme that ties into that area? That will give you 7 days of dialogue to read and analyze.
So have at it, friends. Usual groovy rules pertain: Copy/paste dialogue from IMDB quotes. Copy/paste URL for relevant video clips from MovieClips and YouTube.
See you in comments!
