GITS Script Reading & Analysis, Week 15: “The Sixth Sense”
So after a lively discussion here on the blog, through Twitter and email, there seems to be a consensus that we continue to read and analyze movie scripts, but only do it once per month. This allows people time to read the script, think about it, then pull together their analysis.
I propose we do this the last week of every month. In the future, I will post a request for suggestions the first week of the month, we will announce the selected script the middle of the month, then set the schedule for the end of the month.
I’d like to take the liberty of naming the script for January: The Sixth Sense by M. Night Shyamalan. Here’s why: (1) It sold as a spec script. (2) It sold as a spec script for big money (a reported $2.5M. (3) It’s a damn fine script.

You can access the September 12, 1997 Draft of the script through myPDFscripts here.
Our analysis schedule:
Monday, January 23: General Comments
Tuesday, January 24: Structure
Wednesday, January 25: Characters
Thursday, January 26: Themes
Friday, January 27: Dialogue
This series is a great opportunity to do something you should be doing: reading scripts, breaking them down and analyzing them.
So spread the word! We are resuming the GITS Script Reading & Analysis series. Week 15: The Sixth Sense.
