* This is not the only time we will read and analyze an action script. Assuming we keep doing this series every week, I expect we will get to each genre at least 3–4 times per year.
* Next time around, we can revise and expand the list.
* Yes, I know some of these titles may seem to you to belong in another genre category. There will always be disagreements on this front because some stories are by nature organic and hard to pin down. The point is not about the genre, the point is about reading scripts.
So go to comments and vote. And if there’s another action script you think we should read, and it’s available for download at myPDFscipts, feel free to post it. Perhaps it will solicit enough support to get selected.
Around the middle of September, I will start another thread to set up what scripts we will read each week in October. I think we should open those up to other genres including Science Fiction, Horror, Fantasy, Family and the like.
UPDATE: The votes are in for Drama script and the winner is Good Will Hunting. We will read that the week of September 19–25. Could someone please decipher which of these four script available here at myPDFscripts is the best one to read?
UPDATE #2: I was tempted to pull an end-around and go with Blood Simple, but I couldn’t find it on the myPDFscripts site. So per the will of the people, we will go with The Silence of the Lambs for the week of September 26-October 2. I love the script, the movie even more. It’s the perfect example of movie as psychological journey, so we should have a great time digging into the script, especially because there are several significant differences between it and the movie version.
