Introduce yourself!
Because we’ve had many changes in the past few months and a flood of new readers, I thought the first day of the new month would be a good opportunity for you to introduce yourself. So if you are a newcomer or a GITS ‘veteran,’ or perhaps you have tracked the blog for many months, but haven’t posted anything, please take a few minutes to visit Comments and let us know a bit about yourself, especially about your writing background as well as your creative and professional ambitions.

And while we are here, a few items related to the blog:
* Due to my workload on other projects, I have not gotten the Friends list back up yet. My goal is to do it this weekend. There are a lot of links to go through, so thanks for your patience.
* Several of you have requested some way to subscribe to individual posts and comment threads. Work on that will begin this week.
* You will notice that some of the other requests — ability to preview comments, enhanced search functions — have become available.
The changeover to becoming the Screenwriting Blog of the Black List is, as I have noted, a work in progress. There are a few other site items we will be rolling out in the near future. If you have any suggestions, please let me know.
Here are some interesting numbers about the site:
* Between Google Friends Connect, Twitter, and various RSS feeds, there are over 9,000 GITS followers.
* There have been 7,408 posts and 24,865 comments.
* Since the site went live on May 16, 2008, there have been over 3,000,000 unique visits and 4,000,000 page views.
So let’s take a moment to celebrate the GITS community. Please visit Comments and introduce yourself. If you have a movie to promote, short or full-length, feel free to post a link. If you have a movie or screenwriting related blog or website which you would like added to the Friends list — again I’m aiming to get that back up and running this weekend — please provide that information.
And for everyone who takes the time to introduce themselves, I promise each of you your very own unique blast of creative juju! How can I make this offer? Because I went out trick-or-treating for Halloween last night and collected a whole bunch of juju just for today!
See you in Comments!
