“Marvel’s Movie Slate”
IGN provides this overview of all the Marvel movie projects currently in development:
Since Mickey put his four-fingered hands on Marvel, we can expect the current slate of projects to outlive the sun. In an effort to keep track of all the projects and speculation surrounding them, IGN Movies tracked down the status of 15 Marvel properties in development. In alphabetical order, from Edgar Wright’s Ant-Man to X-Men: First Class, we look ahead at the movies we’ll spend all of our allowance money on for the next few years.
The projects are:
Ant-Man: Scheduled for release in 2012.
The Avengers: Scheduled for release in 2012.
Blade (Reboot): Schedule” TBD.
Deadpool: Scheduled for release in 2011.
Fantastic Four (Reboot): Schedule: TBD.
The First Avenger: Captain America: Scheduled for release 2011.
Gambit: Schedule: TBD.
Iron Man 2: Scheduled for release 2010.
Magneto: Scheduled for release 2011.
Runaways: Schedule: TBD.
Silver Surfer: Scheduled to be released 2012.
: Scheduled to be released 2011.
Thor: Scheduled to be released 2011.
X-Men: First Class: Schedule: TBD.
X-Men Origins: Wolverine 2: Scheduled to be released 2011.
If the schedule holds, that’s 5 Marvel movies in theaters in 2011. Even conservatively, you’ve got to figure those movies will collect cumulatively at least $1B in domestic B.O. with probably another $1–1.5B internationally. And if just one of them breaks out ala Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, which has done $831M worldwide, 2011 could be a record-shattering year for Marvel.
