Speaking of loving tributes to Raiders, have you seen Indyanimation? It’s the entire opening sequence done shot for shot in stop-motion animation. The sets alone are incredible.

Two Mississippi kids spent years in the 1980s making a shot-for-shot remake of “Raiders of the Lost Ark.” Here’s the first ten minutes. Jim Windolf wrote about the remake in the 2004 Vanity Fair feature “Raiders of the Lost Backyard.” You can read it here:

I can still remember seeing Raiders for the very first time its opening weekend when I was living in Ventura, California. What wonderful entertainment! In the action-adventure sub-genre, it has to rank up there at or near the very best.
