More Jack London

Several people commented on and emailed me about this week’s On Writing quote from writer Jack London:

“You can’t wait for inspiration, you have to go after it with a club.”

Well, GITS reader Judy Potocki forwarded me some photographs of Jack London’s Klondike cabin in Dawson City, The Yukon Territory. See above for one of them. As Judy commented:

Note that it has everything a writer/artist needs… Two coffeepots, northern exposure, the business end of a lantern and fur-covered cots.

I’d say by the looks of the cabin, when Jack London said you have to “go after it with a club,” he damn well meant what he said!
