Movies You Made: “Survive the House”

Back on January 4th, I posted this:

If you’ve been involved in the production of an original movie, short or full-length, would you please post in comments some background about the movie, its IMDB link (if available), a VIMEO or YouTube link (if available)? 

I thought it would be cool to profile these movies on GITS, provide some exposure, and hopefully engage in some creative back and forth with the movie’s creators about what they learned in the process and so on.

Again if you’ve written a script that got produced as an independent short or feature, or you were involved directly in the production of a movie, please post information in comments along with links.

And while you’re at it, please provide an email address where I can send some follow-up questions.

The response was fantastic and for about a month, GITS had a daily feature: “Movies You Made.”

Prompted by a some emails and comments, I’m back to ask that if you’ve got a movie you were involved in making — a short or full-length film — please post info per the guidelines above in comments and let’s see if we can promote more of the GITS community’s creative efforts.

To kick off this second round of MYM, here is something that comes from Allan Mackey:

Survive the House is something I wrote, directed, and put together along with my brilliant cast/crew — but it’s a bit different than a typical feature or short.

Survive the House (http://survivethehouse.com) is an interactive movie where you -the viewer- take on the role of protagonist and have to make the decisions that decide your fate. It’s a 1st person style adventure that drops you in a creepy old house and give you the simple (ha!) task of trying to make it out alive.

There are 29 endings (only three where you survive) and it’s a lot of fun, from the characters you meet to the disembodied voice who taunts you every time you die, and you will die.

That’s the pitch. By way of background the project was ironically conceived when we were hiding from the rain on a feature we were shooting. Waiting it out in the house, the idea just came together.
