New web series: “Mortal Kombat: Legacy”
Check out this new webseries. Mortal Kombat: Legacy. It’s backed by Warner Brothers and has by far the highest production value of any webseries I’ve ever seen. It could easily compete with television. It also has Jeri Ryan, Michael Jai White, and that guy from Dollhouse in it.
I’m really, really curious why WB decided to back it as a webseries rather than anything else. What do they get from doing it this way, rather than as a movie or show?
Curious to hear your reactions.
My reactions? If writers are getting paid to write, I think it’s great.
If you do a GITS site Google search on web series, you’ll see I’ve done a bunch of posts on them. Wave of the future? Judging by dollars spent by Warner Bros. on “MK:L,” apparently the future is fast becoming now.
Your thoughts on this and other web series?
