“Original District 9 Short Film”

After a pair of depressing posts yesterday afternoon about the state of “spoon-fed cinema” — here and here — I found something on YouTube that brings me great joy:

This a short film from Neill Blomkamp, which the movie District 9 is based off of. Neill Blomkamp was originally set to produce the halo movie, which is now on hold indenfinitely.

District 9 — an actual movie with an actual story and actual depth… actually.

Many theaters are holding special screenings of District 9 this Thursday at midnight.
