Paladin Distributing First Flip Cam Movie ‘A Love Affair of Sorts’

We knew it was coming. With Paranormal Activity 2 raking in tons of cash at the box office, the handheld, realistic, found footage revolution is set to explode. I found a recent THR article reporting on, correct me if I’m wrong, the first full Flip cam movie, which is actually getting distribution next year. It’s titled A Love Affair of Sorts and is directed by David Guy Levy. The film follows a guy & girl who meet in a bookstore when he catches her shoplifting with his ever-present Flip cam. As they start up a tentative relationship, he captures it all on the camera, though nothing about the situation is as straightforward as it seems. Read on!

A Love Affair of Sorts stars what seems like real life couple Levy and Lili Bordan. Releasing the film in 2011 will be Paladin, a fairly small distribution company behind The Loss of a Teardrop Diamond, The Greatest and Splinterheads recently. “It is extremely exciting working with David, whose understanding of film as art form and enterprise is both inspired and inspiring,” said Mark Urman, Paladin’s CEO. “Not only has he done something very modern and innovative with Love Affair–which we believe is the first-ever feature made entirely with the Flip Camera–he has also done something surprisingly sweet and classically romantic.”
