Pitch Sale: “My Ex-Boyfriend Wrote a Book About Me”

Paramount buys comedy pitch “My Ex-Boyfriend Wrote a Book About Me” from “Community” co-exec producer Hilary Winston. Per Jay Fernandez at the “Risky Business” blog:

The “Bridget Jones’s Diary”-style story is inspired by Winston’s own romantic misadventures (the book’s full subtitle is: “And Other Stories I Shouldn’t Share with Acquaintances, Co-workers, Taxi Drivers, Assistants, Job Interviewers, Bikini Waxers and Ex/ Current/ Future Boyfriends”).

When she spotted a novel written by her ex while browsing at a bookstore, she began paging through it with curiosity only to realize that the “fat-assed girlfriend” he referred to throughout was her.

This book is her response. Only hers, as she is quick to point out, is non-fiction.
