Pitch Sale: “Untitled Jeremy Slater Project”
DreamWorks buys action-thriller pitch from writer Jeremy Slater:
With producers Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, Slater has crafted an airport thriller pitch and sold it to DreamWorks Studios. Kurtzman and Orci, who produced “Eagle Eye” for the company, are producing the untitled thriller, which Slater will write.
Slater is repped by UTA and Kaplan/Perrone.
And what are K&O up to nowadays:
The CAA-repped Kurtzman and Orci, who have a first-look deal with DreamWorks, have co-written and are producing the forthcoming action tentpole “Cowboys and Aliens” for the studio. Directed by Jon Favreau, the film begins shooting soon in New Mexico and is set for release in July 2011.
The pair also has “Deep Sea Cowboys” and “Atlantis Rising” in development at DreamWorks as producers while they work on writing the screenplay for a “Star Trek” sequel for Paramount.
And there’s that buzz word “tentpole” again (see here for more on that).
