Popcorn Fiction: “Western Law” by Derek Haas
From screenwriter Derek Haas, another new piece of short fiction at his terrific website PopcornFiction:
Good morning… there’s a new story up on Popcorn Fiction: a newspaper writer attempts to set the record straight regarding a famous trial in the Old West in “Western Law.”
I wrote this story… the second story of mine I’ve published here on Popcorn Fiction…. and I hope you’ll enjoy it. A tiny bit about me: I co-wrote the movies 3:10 TO YUMA and WANTED with my screenwriting partner Michael Brandt. I also wrote the novels THE SILVER BEAR and COLUMBUS, both about a contract killer, the latter of which is up for the Barry Award for Best Thriller of 2010. Anyway, I hope you dig this story and as always, please let me know what you think… unless you despise it. Have a great week! — DH
