Reader Question: How does an American become a British TV writer?

here’s one for you — how does an American become a British TV writer? :)

It’s safe to assume, Amy, that you’re an American living in England? Because if you aren’t, I’d say you have zero chance of writing for British TV unless you live there, akin to needing to reside in L.A. if you want to write TV in the States.

Apart from that, you stumped me. Bereft of insight. Clueless.

However I know from tracking traffic that GITS has a lot of followers in the U.K., so I’m banking on at least a few of them chiming in. 

Yes, Amy could represent competition… from a bloody Yank, no less. But here’s a chance, U.K. writers, to woo some good karma your way by providing a perspective on why it’s a good — or bad — idea for an American to try to write for TV in England.
