Rewriting Your Script
We’ve all heard the saying, “Writing is rewriting.” But what? And how? When Tom Benedek and I launched Screenwriting Master Class, we knew we had to come up with something more than just a set of generic platitudes. Instead we needed to cull through our five decades of experience working as screenwriters and over 60 studio or network projects we have written and rewritten to create something truly unique and helpful to writers.
Which led to this: “Rewriting Your Script”, a 10-week online rewriting workshop.
In “Rewriting Your Script,” you not only learn a set of principles and an approach to rewriting grounded in decades of professional experience, you also receive the direct benefit of having Tom or myself
directly involved in your process. In effect you have a mentor to help steer you through your rewrite.

Tom Benedek has written screenplays for Robert Zemeckis, Lawerence Kasdan, Lili Fini Zanuck and Richard Zanuck, David Brown, Ron Howard, Martin Scorsese, Sydney Pollack, Richard Rush, Harold Ramis,
Lauren Schuler Donner and Richard Donner, Ray Stark, Brian Grazer, Working Title, Jersey Title, Jersey Film, Chris Blackwell and many others. He wrote the screenplay for Cocoon, Free Willy and other films.
He is a member of the Writers’ Guild of America, West and the Writers’ Branch of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. He teaches screenwriting at the University of Southern California School of
Cinematic Arts and at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor where he is a James Gindin Visiting Artist.
Tom is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst where he received a Bachelor’s Degree with Individual Concentration in Film.
