In fact, when Warners Chairman Barry Meyer laid out the studio’s 2011 slate for investors yesterday, it felt (to quote Yogi Berra) like deja vu all over again. The studio’s big releases were almost all remakes, sequels and revamps of other films, notably “The Hangover 2,” “Green Lantern,” “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II,” “Journey to the Center of the Earth 2,” “Happy Feet 2” and “New Year’s Eve,” which is a follow-up to the studio’s “Valentine’s Day” hit.

Maybe it’s time to bring in some Wall Street hustlers to run the studio system, since its getting hard to tell the difference between a movie slate and a stock portfolio.
