Short Film: “Rosa” by Jesús Orellana
The movie rights to this film by Jesús Orellana just sold to Twentieth Century Fox:
UPDATE: For those of you critiquing “Rosa” for a lack of story — an assessment with which I agree — compare to the short films “Panic Attack” and “The Raven”, both of which sold to Hollywood. I think a certain amount of the appeal of these type of films is the proverbial shiny object syndrome: “It’s new, it’s cool, it’s visual. Daddy like!” Presumably they figure they can hire screenwriters to crack a story built upon the concept and featuring the style of the film. But no, I think it’s safe to say they aren’t buying these things because of the quality narrative.
