So I did check it out and Bassett had this great post about his experience at Comic Con:

Eric Vespe (known as Quint to readers of Ain’t It Cool News) was the moderator for the panel which consisted of me, James P and Samuel Hadida (who decided jump up with us at the last second). Eric got the ball rolling and opened up by asking the crowd if there were any Solomon Kane fans out there. It was hardly an overwhelming chorus of recognition. Yes, for sure, a few shouts and cheers from the loyal SK followers but it was clear that for the most part, these folks don’t know who he is. That just goes to show the heavy lifting that’s got to be done to get this film into the public consciousness. But we ran the trailer first, just to give folks a taste of what’s in the movie. And we got ourselves a cheer.

And you know what, the cheers got bigger for each and every clip. You could feel the audience coming over to our side. Most had no clue what to expect and we were just filler between the big shows but I think we made some friends today. James P is charm personified; handsome, smart, self deprecating and he delivers the goods and the clips speak for themselves. I think maybe, just maybe, I should have shown one less clip and spent for time on questions because there was a long queue forming to ask stuff which we just couldn’t get to. I wanted to make sure they got to see as much of the film as possible and I didn’t really imagine that people wanted to hear what we had to say. Slight miscalculation there on my part. And I figured we could answer questions at the signing afterwards…. which we got to and found out that it hadn’t been promoted or advertised at all. No one knew we were there at all, so it was kinda embarrassing to begin with. And though we signed for our alloted hour, most of the people were simply collectors of every poster and signature they could get rather than real fans. Shame.

Then lots of press and interviews. People telling us afterwards that the panel had really surprised a lot of people and the clips went down brilliantly. Industry types contacting us, just blown away by what they’d seen, journalists comparing the response to the surprise that ‘300? sprung on the Comic Con crowd a few years earlier. It was great to hear and pretty crazy.
