Spec Script Deal: “Couple Up”

Lionsgate acquires fantasy drama spec script “Couple Up” written by Joshua Friedlander. From Deadline:

A married couple, verging on divorce, wishes they had never met. In an It’s A Wonderful Life-type scenario, they see what life would have been like had they never gotten together.

How long has that concept been sitting there waiting for a writer to hit on it? Congrats to Joshua who did.

Deal was made in what is described as a “competitive situation”.

Friedlander is repped by Paradigm and Industry Entertainment.

By my count, this is the 22nd spec script deal in 2016.
