Pandemonium Entertainment acquires drama spec script “Damascus” written by Bennett Fisher. From Deadline:
Damascus takes place after an explosion at the Minneapolis airport. Everyone is on high alert, and with all planes grounded, a stranded teenager pleads with a Somali-American airport shuttle driver to drive him home to Chicago. As the two men cross the Midwest in the dead of winter, they discover that not everything is what it seems. Damascus investigates the seductiveness of extremism and the assumptions made about homeland and security.
Fisher adapted the screenplay from his award-winning play.
This is an option deal.
By my count, this is the 44th spec script deal in 2017.
There were 45 spec script deals year-to-date in 2016.
