Spec Script Deal: “Genesis”

20th Century Fox acquires science fiction spec script “Genesis” written by Andrew Baldwin. From Tracking Board:

Went into several studios with multiple interested parties before ultimately landing with Kinberg when Fox submitted a winning bid. The story details are being kept under wraps, but the script is being described as a sci-fi thriller with action elements.

Baldwin has written scripts which have made the Black List twice: 2008 and 2011.

He is repped by CAA and Anonymous Content.

By my count, this is the 41st spec script deal in 2016.

There were 40 spec script deals year-to-date in 2015.
