Spec Script Deal: “Proxima”

Rumble Films acquires science fiction spec script “Proxima” written by Chris Hager. From Deadline:

The sci-fi drama is about a married couple on a centuries-long mission across the universe.

The writer is from Kansas City, MO, and he was just a guy with a dream of being a screenwriter who wrote a query letter to [producer Jim] Wedaa. The producer thought it was a great idea and then pursued the project.

Hager is a first-time writer. He is repped by Verve and Parallax Talent Management.

By my count, this is the 19th spec script deal in 2015.
