New Line acquires comedy spec script “Super-Intelligence” written by Steve Mallory. From THR:

The logline for Super-Intelligence is being kept under wraps, but it’s a high-concept action/unconventional buddy comedy set against the phenomena of technological singularity.

Melissa McCarthy and Ben Falcone are attached as executive producers.

It was a preemptive purchase.

Mallory is repped by MGMT.

By my count, this is the 39th spec script deal in 2017.

There were 38 spec script deals year-to-date in 2016.
